For clubs

An hour for the club administrator, two short meetings with the head coaches, and every squad is on the same page for the season.

The administrator’s hour

Four things, in order, done once at the start of the season. None of them needs any rugby.

  1. Set up the squads

One squad per training group, at its age band. A club with two U8 groups has two U8 squads.

  2. Paste the registers

A first name and up to three letters of the surname for each child. Nothing else is asked for, and nothing else can be entered.

  3. Invite the coaches

Each coach is invited by email and signs in with their own login. Every coach and administrator is included in the price.

  4. Name one head coach per squad

The head coach saves the plan and is the only person who scores. The other coaches read everything and write on the session sheet.

Two short meetings

The club sits down with its head coaches twice: before the first session, and after the first week.

Before the first session

How this squad trains, and the first block

Sessions a week, session length, block length, and which part of the game the first block starts on. The head coach saves it as the plan; the session sheet and the scoring follow from it.

After the first week

Scoring

One key factor at a time, across the whole squad, seated afterwards and from memory. “Haven’t seen enough” is an answer. The squad picture appears as the answers go in.

Who does what

Club administrator
Sets up the squads, pastes the registers, invites the coaches, names one head coach per squad.
Head coach
One per squad. Saves the plan and is the only person who scores.
Coach
Reads everything — the picture, the groups, the plan — and writes on the session sheet.
Athletic preparation coach
Belongs to the club, reads every squad, scores the physical skills.

The record

At the end of the season each child’s development profile is archived and goes with them to the next age grade and the next coach. A club builds that picture up over many years.

The season record is the squad’s, not the child’s: it holds no name and no identifier, so a club can compare one year with the next without keeping anything about the children who have moved on.

What we hold about a child

Held
A first name and up to three letters of the surname.
Never held
No date of birth, no photograph, no contact details, no free text about an individual, no video. Age comes from the squad’s age band.

Children have no logins. Each club’s data is kept apart from every other club’s by the database itself. Ratings are deleted twelve months after a child stops playing.

Pilots

  • Italy

    Now

CUS Verona since September 2026. Squads at U4, U6, U8, U10 and U12, as the FIR runs them. Tackle height in the FIR’s words: below the chest and above the knees. Every screen in Italian, confirmed by Italian coaches.

  • Ireland

    Late October or November 2026

Squads at every year from U6 to U12, as the IRFU runs minis. Tackle height and what is permitted at each age follow the IRFU.

  • New Zealand

    January or February 2027

Squads by year from U6 to U12, matching school-year grades. Tackle height in New Zealand Rugby’s words: below the sternum. The club sets its own season dates.

Tackle height and what is legal at what age follow each union. The eleven key factors never change by country. A union’s laws configure the platform; they never change the framework.

Who it is for

Volunteer coaches of U4 to U12 rugby squads, most of them parents, and the clubs they coach for.

What it costs

One price per squad, for a year, every coach and administrator included. Never per user, so nobody rations logins.

  • Squads 1 to 7€100each, a year
  • Squads 8 to 14€75each, a year
  • From the 15th squad€60each, a year

The bands step: ten squads pay €100 for the first seven and €75 for the next three. Ex VAT, billed once a year.

A squad is one training group with its own head coach. Four squads: €400 a year. Seven: €700. Ten: €925. Fourteen: €1,225.

Payment is arranged with us for now. Try it first; ask us when you are ready.

Who we are

Mike Brewer

Loose forward for Otago, Canterbury and the All Blacks (32 tests, 1986–1995). Coached at international, provincial and club level in New Zealand, Australia, Argentina, Fiji, Ireland, England, Scotland, Italy and Asia.

In every country, at this age, most coaches are parents with little or no coaching experience. What stops a parent from saying yes is the planning: the season, the sessions, and how to tell whether a child is developing. Mini Rugby Semplice carries that planning. The head coach says how many sessions a week the squad trains and how long each one is; the platform lays out the season from there.
